On February 21, 2020, sails were set at the Trimaran in the Caribbean for routine training in advance of the RORC Caribbean 600 Race. As the sails were hoisted, the new MC20 logo unexpectedly appeared on the mainsail. Giovanni Soldini, a long-time friend of Maserati and a key ambassador, and his crew paid special tribute to the brand with the trident. They underlined the link between the high-performance trimaran and the new Maserati supercar. The Maserati Multi 70 trimaran is a laboratory boat to which the engineers of the Modena Innovation Laboratory transferred their know-how in aerodynamics, technological innovation and performance. These values also guided the team of engineers and technicians in the development of the MC20. Moreover, the Maserati Multi 70 and the new supercar share a common vocation for breaking records: With this technologically outstanding model, Maserati aims to make its comeback in racing.

The three-liter V6 engine puts an impressive output of 463 kW (630 hp) on the road. Despite downsizing by half the cylinders compared to its predecessor MC12, it lags only 20 km/h behind in its top speed of 325 km/h. With a dry weight of 1'470 kg, it passes the 100 mark after 2.9 seconds and the 200 mark after 8.8 seconds. The method of double injection and patented pre-chamber system used by the MC20 originates from Formula 1 and ensures more efficient combustion, better drivability and stronger performance.
The ultra-light high-tech carbon fiber monocoque was developed to make the MC20 stronger, faster and safer thanks to its high torsional and bending stiffness. The design also appears extremely futuristic in many places, yet combines classic and modern elements in its unity. Thus, one can enjoy elegant scissor doors, powerful air intakes and protruding fenders, and yet is captured by a stylish and calm appearance in the upper area.
The interior shines with a perfect blend of carbon, Alcantara and leather. The sports seats are laser-cut and the accent color design is also found on the door panels. The central carbon console is adorned with a precious mechanical drive mode switch, which was inspired by the luxury watch industry. The customizable 10.2" TFT instrument cluster and 10.2" connected touchscreen in the center offer, as usual, all the gimmicks your heart desires. Newly, even up to 8 mobile devices can be coupled via WLAN hotspot, with which the driver can be informed by a Connect app about the fuel level, the vehicle position or the tire pressure.
