In 1899, Henry Ford founded the Detroit Automobile Company. Barely two years later, the company was already bankrupt and Ford renamed it the Henry Ford Company. Another year later, Ford was thrown out of his own company. It was not until his successor Henry Martyn Leland renamed the Henry Ford Company Cadillac. Then in 1901, he and his son Wilfred designed a new engine for the Olds Motor Vehicle Company. When the company realized that they would have had to restructure the entire vehicle to fit the excellent characteristics of this new type of engine, it was rejected. In 1903, the first three Cadillacs were introduced at the New York Auto Show. In just three days, the newly formed company booked 2286 orders for new cars. The automobile success story began with a unit price of $750 and a 10-horsepower single-cylinder engine.

Cadillac introduces the new XT4, a compact crossover designed for a new generation of discerning customers. The clean, sculpted lines of the XT4 attract attention and emphasize the vehicle's powerful proportions and confident presence. "The XT4 has a great presence that exudes confidence and assurance," said Therese Pinazzo, exterior design manager. "It conveys the DNA of Cadillac. Add to that a kind of new cockiness that reflects the youthful freshness of its designers - and its customers." In keeping with Cadillac's new "Y" trim strategy, the "Luxury," "Premium Luxury" and "Sport" model variants provide distinctive styling and equipment features for individuality and appealing choice. XT4 "Sport" models feature a gloss black mesh grille inspired by Cadillac's high-performance "V-Series" performance models, gloss black windshield surrounds and a choice of special sport alloy wheels. The "Luxury" and "Premium Luxury" versions can be identified by the grille with bright metallic accents, window surrounds in satin aluminum and door handles accented with satin chrome.
In keeping with the design themes of the exterior, the interior of the XT4 is powerful, youthful and sporty. Sweeping arches and tapered lines reinforce the generous sense of space and add atmospheric density. "The XT4's interior represents a distillation of the Cadillac brand," says Phillip Kucera, Interior Design Manager. "We were allowed to go simpler and bolder than ever before, allowing us to give this crossover model its special sporty touch." New highlights in the XT4 include: A Cadillac-specific infotainment user experience with a new rotary dial, advanced powertrain features such as adaptive all-wheel drive (optional) with dual clutches on the differential to decouple the rear wheels, active sport suspension (optional) with continuous damping control and new electro-hydraulic brake assist. Get in, get comfortable, and take off on new adventures.
The new Cadillac XT4 gets a two-liter turbo gasoline engine as standard. As a special feature and unprecedented in the combination at Cadillac, this has variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation in sliding mode. The four-cylinder achieves 237 hp and 350 Newton meters of torque according to SAE standards, and the only transmission available is the nine-speed Hydramatic 9T50 automatic. From 0 to 100 Km/h in just 8.3 SEK and a top speed of 210 Km/h, the Cadillac XT4 consumes between 7.4 and 8.1 liters. Automatic all-wheel drive is available at extra cost. Cadillac has modernized the control technology and interfaces in particular. There is a new rotary pushbutton for operating the multimedia system, ambient lighting, a 15-watt charging station for wireless charging of cell phones, a new eight-inch color monitor with HD resolution and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.
